Corporate Holiday Gifts in Canada for 2026: Ideas by Budget and Order Deadlines

Corporate Holiday Gifts in Canada for 2026: Ideas by Budget and Order Deadlines

If you want branded holiday gifts in hand by the second week of December, plan to approve your order by mid-November. Embroidered apparel and gift kits need the most time, while printed pens and small items can still be rushed into early December. Below you'll find what to order at three budgets and the dates that keep you out of trouble.

When should you order corporate holiday gifts for 2026?

Christmas falls on a Friday this year, and most offices will hold parties or wind down the week of December 14. That makes Friday, December 11 a sensible "in hands" target. Working back from that date:

  • Gift kits shipped to remote staff: approve your proof by Friday, November 6. Packing each kit and shipping to several provinces adds a week or more.
  • Embroidered hoodies, jackets and toques: approve by Friday, November 13. Embroidery queues fill up fast in late fall.
  • Printed or engraved drinkware, notebooks and tech: approve by Friday, November 20 to allow for standard production plus ground shipping.
  • Pens and small add-ons: approve by Monday, December 7. Our rush pens can be printed within 24 hours.

The clock starts when you approve the artwork proof, not when you first ask for a quote. A week spent chasing sign-off from three managers is a week of production you've lost. Get your logo files and quantities sorted before you start shopping.

How much should you spend on corporate gifts in Canada?

Most companies land between $20 and $100 per person, and the right number depends on who's receiving it. A common split looks like this:

  • Every employee: $20 to $60
  • Key clients and partners: $50 to $150
  • Leadership, top accounts or a milestone year: $100 and up

Remember that the price you see on a product page is usually before decoration. Most items have a setup charge for the screen or embroidery file, and it gets spread across your order, so 25 units cost more each than 250.

What corporate gifts work for under $25 per person?

This is the tier for large teams, client mailers or a little extra tucked into a holiday card. The trick is picking things people use in winter.

A toque is about as Canadian as a gift gets, and it's worn daily from November to April. Our embroidered promotional beanies start under $5, with knit and recycled options going up to around $24.

Wall calendars are another underrated choice. Hand someone a 2027 calendar in December and your logo hangs on their wall for the next twelve months. The custom wall calendars on our site run about $3 to $5 each.

A good notebook and pen set also fits here. Pair a soft cover notebook with a quality pen and you have a desk gift that costs less than lunch.

What are good holiday gifts in the $25 to $75 range?

This is where most corporate holiday budgets end up, and it's where you can give something that feels like a real gift rather than swag.

Insulated tumblers are still the safest bet. Almost everyone carries one, they work for coffee in January and water in July, and a laser engraved logo looks sharp without shouting. Browse our insulated bottles and tumblers for options mostly between $11 and $30 before decoration, or the wider promotional drinkware range if you want mugs or barware.

Tech accessories are a close second. A wireless charger, a power bank or a small kit with cables makes sense for hybrid teams who move between home and office. Our custom tech kits start around $19.

You can also combine two items. A tumbler plus a toque in a branded box looks thoughtful and still lands under $50 for most orders.

What should you give for $75 and up?

At this level, quality matters more than the logo. A small, tone on tone embroidered logo on a good hoodie gets worn on weekends. A giant print on a cheap one goes straight to the donation bin.

Our custom hoodies range from about $31 to $133, and the top end is where you'll find heavier fabrics and better fits. Premium tech kits from brands like Bellroy, leather padfolios and hard cover journals also work well for executives and long time clients.

Are employee holiday gifts taxable in Canada?

Usually not, if you follow the CRA's rules. Non cash gifts to an employee are tax free up to a combined $500 a year. Items of small or trivial value, such as a mug or a T-shirt with your company logo, don't count toward that $500 at all.

Gift cards are a different story. The CRA treats them as near cash, so they become a taxable benefit for the employee. That's one more reason a physical branded gift often makes more sense than a card. Check with your accountant if your gifts run high or you're mixing types.

How do you ship holiday gifts to a team across Canada?

If your people are spread from Halifax to Vancouver, build in extra time. December is the busiest month of the year for every carrier, and shipping to rural addresses or the North can add several days.

A few habits save headaches:

  • Collect home addresses early and confirm them with each person. Wrong postal codes are the most common reason a gift comes back.
  • Ship to remote staff first, then to the office.
  • Add a short bilingual card if you have staff or clients in Québec. It's a small touch people notice.
  • Keep a buffer. In 2024, a Canada Post strike stopped mail for most of the holiday rush. Courier tracking on every box is worth the small extra cost.

What if you've already missed the deadline?

You still have options, they're just narrower. Printed pens can be produced within 24 hours through our rush custom pens collection, and some drinkware and notebooks in stock can move quickly too. Embroidered apparel is the hardest to rush, so swap it for a printed item if time is short.

Another option is giving a gift in January. A "thanks for a great year" gift that shows up after the holiday rush stands out more than one that lands with a dozen others.
